This Month ... and Beyond

 

 

 

May 25th - (Grow & GO) 5pm-8pm -  the Thursday morning Women's bible study is planning a GO event in Pottstown:  they will be providing haircuts, manicures, photos, resume assistance, food - etc to those who are homeless or in need.   We will be at Morning Star Fellowship on High Street.  If you are interested in helping with food, or other things there is a sign-up link on the website and facebook to get involved, or you can talk to Thea Angelucci or Megan deMontaigne.

MAY 30 - (EQUIP ) – Financial Peace University (FPU) Course by Dave Ramsey will begin for nine Tuesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 at Sunnyside. FPU is a biblically-based curriculum that teaches people how to handle money God’s way. It will be coordinated by Jason & Gina Warren. Cost for materials is $99 per person or couple. JUNE 10 - (INVITE) – Valley Kids is sponsoring a trip to the Reading Phillies. Invite your family and friends. Tickets are $10 each. Stupendous fireworks included! Fun for the whole family. NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS GROUP   Valley View is pleased to host a weekly Narcotics Anonymous support group called H.A.L.O. (Helping Addicts Lose the Obsession) on Wednesday evenings from 6:45-8:00 for those struggling with or recovering from addiction to any substance, including alcohol. Contact the Valley View church office for more info. 



COUNSELING AVAILABLE AT SUNNYSIDE   Three counselors from The Peacemaker Center offer 50-minute counseling sessions by appointment at Sunnyside. Scholarships are available, based on income.

  • Adam Hoover is a graduate of Biblical Seminary’s counseling program. Adam enjoys counseling men, married couples, and life coaching. Contact adam@thepeacemakercenter.org.
  • Ann Spooner, a licensed counselor with 25 years’ experience, counsels women, couples, or families. Contact Ann at 215.514.5226.
  • Andy Reynolds is a graduate of Cairn University’s counseling program. He is available for counseling adolescents and adults, as well as marriage and family counseling. Contact him at andy@thepeacemakercenter.org.

PERPETUAL FOOD DRIVE   We collect food for food banks in Phoenixville and Schwenksville. Please place any donations in the containers in our lobby.



OLD CELL PHONES & EMPTY INK CARTRIDGES NEEDED  Valley View is partnering with Pamoza International to collect old cell phones and empty ink cartridges for recycling. Pamoza, which means together, works with families in Malawi, Africa, by sharing the love of Jesus while improving their access to food, education, health care, and sources of income. Money from the recycling program will support three school farms, which are used to feed nearly 1,200 students each school day. A container for you to donate old cell phones and empty ink cartridges is in our lobby.

AUGUST 3-9, HUMANKIND WATER MISSION TRIP.  A six-day mission trip to the Dominican Republic, led by Bruce Carter, is being planned in partnership with Humankind Water. Applicants must be 16 or older, in good health, with willing, servant hearts. For more info, contact bruce@vvcommunity.org.
