Americans have trouble handling money which shouldn't surprise us because we live in a country that has trouble handling money. Currently our national debt is 14.7 trillion dollars and rising by the second.
Before I went to graduate school I can remember my dad sitting down at the kitchen table with me and literally counting the cost of a four year seminary education. In keeping with the businessman he was, he pulled out a sheet of paper and began to jot down some figures.
On April 9, 2005, my father died. He was 84 years old. He had been in the hospital since February battling pneumonia and a whole list of other physical ailments. So when he passed away on that Saturday morning in the hospice unit of Abington Hospital I had mixed emotions.
