When I was in seminary a missionary in Colombia, South America, was kidnapped by guerrilla forces. His name was Chet Bitterman. Immediately word went out around the world to pray for Chet Bitterman's release.
This morning we continue our series called Teach Us to Pray with a look at unanswered prayer. In fact, I've titled it Why God Says No. Unanswered prayer is a problem for many of us.
Today Valley View joins 500,000 churches in over 100 countries in the largest one-day prayer event of its kind. Today is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church.
Jennifer and I are in the midst of wedding season right now. That's right. It seems like more and more couples are getting married in the fall. It's a beautiful time of year.
“Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord my soul to keep. Guide me through the long, dark night and wake me with the morning light. Bless mommy and daddy, grand mom and grand pop, Kenny and everybody in the whole world. In Jesus name. Amen.”
